Couples Home Defense Retreat

Your home is your castle.  Learn to harden & defend it together!
This 3-day course is designed for couples who want to increase their defensive firearms capabilities and learn to work together to protect themselves and their families in emergency situations, specifically home invasions.

You and your partner will learn how to develop an emergency plan, effectively communicate to perform necessary tasks safely, understand each other's roles / responsibilities and develop tactical skills including room clearing, utilizing cover, and shooting on the move.

Each couple will need one (1) modern sporting rifle (AR platform, preferably) while each individual will need their own semi-automatic pistol, holster & associated gear as outlined in Required Gear section.

  • FAQs

    Q: Can I bring my own ammo or do I have to buy it from you?
    A: Guests may bring their own ammo or purchase it from us. Steel core, green tips, tracer & armor-piercing ammo, black powder & Tannerite are prohibited.

    Q: Are there any limits on the caliber of gun I can shoot at your range?
    A: Our steel targets are rated up to and including the .338 Lapua Magnum. 50BMG is restricted from use on our range.

    Q: Can I use my pistol caliber carbine?
    A: Yes, pistol caliber carbines are welcome.

    Q:  What is the schedule / itinerary?
    A:  Plan to arrive Friday at 1pm and we’ll train until around 5pm. We’ll serve dinner afterward, as well as provide lunches on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday class will run from 9am-5pm and Sunday from 9am – 2pm.

  • Required Gear
    • Closed-toe shoes
    • Long pants/jeans with belt loops
    • Sturdy belt
    • Undershirt/camisole to prevent irritation from repetitive draw exercises
    • Hat
    • No tank tops, sleeveless, or deep V-neck shirts
    • Appropriate attire for the cold, hot, or wet weather
    • Ear & eye protection (provided by On Guard Defense) unless you want to bring your own
    • Holster (strong side, outside-the-waistband or inside the waistband-only; no bellybands or Serpa)
    • Semi-automatic pistol w/two (2) magazines & magazine pouch
    • 200 rounds of pistol ammunition (per person) - Full Metal Jacket (FMJ)
    • A serviceable Modular Sporting Rifle
    • Rifle sling
    • Three (3) rifle magazines
    • Back-up iron sights if using an optic (zero'd)
    • 200 rounds of rifle ammunition (minimum)
    • Water bottle

Upon receipt of your registration form, you will receive a separate email containing a link for you to submit secure payment via credit card. Once payment is received, your seat will be secured. If you prefer to pay by cash or check, payment must be received one week prior to class.

In the event you need to cancel, no refund will be issued. You may use your credit on account toward purchase of another class if applied within one (1) year of the date of original cancellation, otherwise no refund / credit will be issued.
