On Guard Defense is female owned and operated by Ohio's "Gun Gal" Judi Phelps and her husband Scott.
Judi holds various certifications including NRA Instructor, NRA Chief Range Safety Officer & Commando Krav Maga Level 2 Smart Safe Instructor.
Scott is an On Guard Defense Instructor, an NRA Range Safety Officer and is certified to teach NRA Basic Pistol & Basic Rifle courses. He is also a certified NASP Basic Archery Instructor (BAI).
Michael R. Moran, Esq. is a private practicing attorney with a firearms/self-defense focus for over two decades. He has a passion for teaching a variety of firearms, self-defense, tactical & wilderness emergency care courses for which he holds multiple certifications.
Caleb manages daily operations of the range & training campus and is responsible for everything from running a class to maintaining the firearm rental inventory. He is an On Guard Defense Instructor & Range Safety Officer. He is also an active duty soldier with the United States Army & Ohio National Guard.
Jeff is an On Guard Defense Instructor, NRA Pistol Instructor & NRA Range Safety Officer. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, and then retired honorably from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
Katie is an On Guard Defense Instructor, NRA Range Safety Officer and Commando Krav Maga Level 2 Smart Safe Instructor. She is committed to teaching men & women how to build the skills necessary to keep them & their families safe.
Bill is a United States Army combat veteran having served for 10 years as a Military Police Officer. He is an On Guard Defense Instructor, a USCCA Certified Instructor & NRA Range Safety Officer teaching both pistol & defensive rifle courses.
Justin served as an Infantry Machine Gunner Team Leader in the United States Marine Corps. He is currently employed serving as a deputy at Gallia County Sheriff's office. Justin is an NRA Range Safety Officer & works at On Guard Defense whenever we can get him.
Following his service in the United States Army, Mark served as a police officer throughout the state of Ohio and held various firearms instructor certifications for law enforcement officers throughout his 25-year tenure. He is an On Guard Defense Instructor & NRA Certified Instructor for Pistol & Home Firearm Safety.
Jeremiah is our esteemed Vinton County Clerk of Court by day and works as an NRA Range Safety Officer on weekends. He also serves as a volunteer firefighter in our local community.
Mark is an On Guard Defense Instructor & NRA Range Safety Officer. He teaches defensive rifle classes, assists on the range & serves as a volunteer firefighter in our local community.
Jon is an NRA Range Safety Officer & life-long firearms ethusiast and hunter. Jon helps oversee range safety & equipment maintenance.
Debbie is an NRA Range Safety Officer. She retired from the medical field having served 27 years as a Paramedic & 13 years as a Registered Nurse. She has been a life-long firearms & hunting enthusiast.
Dan began his service career in the United States Marine Corps & now works in local law enforcement. He is a certified OPOTC Instructor & NRA Range Safety Officer.
Tyler is an honorable veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He is also a certified NRA Range Safety Officer. His knowledge & expertise with various weapon systems makes him a valuable asset to our team.
Will is a veteran of the United States Navy and is a certified NRA Range Safety Officer. He is currently serving overseas as a federal contractor.
Brad is a championship competitive shooter since 2001 and a NRA-ranked High Power Rifle Expert. He has won over 250 pistol competitions. Brad is also a GSSF Scoring Official and Range Officer.
Willow’s friends call her “Boo-Boo”. She was rescued as a pup in the Wayne National Forest nearly ten years ago and she has been our loyal & loving fur baby ever since. But don’t let her pretty face fool you, if she senses a threat she will take it out – much like her mama!!
